Belgian IPTV provider Belgacom TV is expanding its footprint across the whole country by making 500 on-demand movies available from their Movie Me VOD service to Samsung Smart TV sets.

Viewers can access the Belgacom Movie Me library and rent movies for a period of 48 hours with prices starting at €2.99. Payment is possible by credit card (Visa and Master Card) using the Ogone payment platform. The operator said that other payment options will become available in the near future.

According to the operator, the move is meant to show the VOD fucntionality to viewers outside the Belgacom TV footprint and promote the concept of on-demand movies.

Belgacom has also integrated the Jinni Taste Engine to provide viewers with personal recommendations. The system is already in use on the IPTV platform.
