    Digi boosts Slovak cable offer

RCS&RCS has been added a number of HD channels to its Digi TV cable offer in Slovakia.

Zive reports that aside from aside from the proprietary Digi Sport HD, it now provides its subscribers with Markiza HD, Joj HD, Joj Plus HD, M1 HD, M2 HD, Duna HD and Super One HD.

Almost all the channels provide up-scaled rather than native HD, and reception is possible through set-top boxes that cost Ä122 to buy or Ä4.30 a month to rent.

Although RCS&RDS operates both cable and DTH services in Slovakia, only the former now includes HD channels.

Romanian-owned RCS&RDS has a presence in six CEE markets, of which three (Romania, Hungary and Slovakia) include both cable and DTH operations.
