    Russia faces cable dispute
    11.03 Europe/London, December 9, 2011 By Chris Dziadul

Cable operators in Moscow are being asked to move wires from rooftops underground.

According to AKTR and RBK Daily, requests have been sent to a number of companies including VimpelCom, Akado, Central Telegraph and Mostelecom.

However, the latter say that their infrastructure has already been approved by the relevant bodies and complies with existing legislation.

Furthermore, the National Association of House Information and Communication Networks (NADIKS) and national cable association (AKTR) have issued a joint statement saying that such a move would require cable networks to be rebuilt from scratch and result in price increases in TV, internet and other services.
