Romania’s National Audiovisual Council (CNA) has added GSP TV to the already extensive list of channels that cable operators in the country are required to carry.

Financiarul reports that the channel, now one of 36 on the list, secured must-carry status following the submission of evidence from its licence holder Camina Trust SRL, itself part of the Intact Media Group, that GSP TV is ranked 13th in terms of ratings produced by the Romanian Association for Audience Measurement (ARMA).

GSP TV was launched in July 2008 and is a sports-based channel. It already has carriage in Romtelecom’s Dolce, UPC and several smaller cable networks.

Operators that refuse to distribute the channel now face the prospect of being fined up to RON200,000 (€65,468).
