SES Astra is further expanding the line-up of its HD+ bouquet for the German market with the addition of Nickelodeon HD and Comedy Central HD following an agreement between MTV Networks, HD+ and SES.

Consequently, the HD+ offer now comprises ten free TV HD channels, which are transmitted in encrypted form.

HD+ is a technical platform from SES Astra for encrypted broadcasting of private channels in HD quality. The free TV channels as part of the HD+ offering currently include Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD, RTL HD, Sat.1 HD, ProSieben HD, Vox HD, Kabel eins HD, RTL2 HD, Sport1 HD and Sixx HD.

The announcement comes at the same time as Sky Deutschland customers will also be able to access the HD+ bouquet with their Sky D approved satellite receiver.

For HD+, no fixed contract or subscription obligations apply. Following a one year trial period free of charge, customers pay a fixed technical service fee of 50 per year. This translates into a payment of 4.16 per month.
