Acer's adoption of the Windows Phone platform seem to finally be bearing fruit as as Computex the PC maker has on display a smartphone powered by Microsoft's software. Named W4, the phone is supposed to come with Windows Phone 7 Mango (7.1) so it should be released sometime this fall.
The W4 features a 3.6-inch (800 x 480) capacitive touchscreen, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 SoC with Adreno 205 graphics, 8GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, and both 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. The phone also has quad-band GSM and HSPA support.
