Catering to professionals in need of mo' GPU power, AMD has introduced two new FirePro graphics cards, the FirePro V7900 and V5900, which are claimed to more than double the performance of competitive offerings in key application.

Both these FirePro models have a single-slot design, support for the DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.1 and OpenCL 1.1 APIs, for CrossFire Pro, Eyefinity, they feature the PowerTune technology, a 256-bit memory interface, and pack 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
The FirePro V7900 has 1280 Stream Processors, GPU/memory clocks of 725/5000 MHz, four DisplayPort outputs and a price tag of $999, whereas the FirePro V5900 boasts 512 SPs, 600/2000 MHz frequencies, one DVI and two DisplaPort connectors, and costs $699.
