Buffalo has this week revealed a new media storage solution for home use, the LinkStation LS- XL Series network hard drive which can deliver data to a heap of devices, including TVs, PCs, Mac and even smartphones and tablets.
Buffalo's drive measures 45 x 175 x 150 mm and weights 1.1kg, has a pretty sleek design which allows either vertical or horizontal installation, it is passively cooled, and includes a Gigabit Ethernet port for direct connectivity to the web, a WiFi router, and such. The device also features a timer function which enables users to program when it turns on/off, and includes support for DLNA devices so as to allow for easy streaming.
The LinkStation LS- XL Series is backed by a one-year warranty and will become available (in Japan) around mid-July in 1TB ($195), 2TB ($260) and 3TB ($327) capacities.
