Saying that Gigabyte Technology has adopted the Z68 Express chipset would be an understatement as the company took Intel's silicon and built a heap of motherboards around it. How many you ask? Well, Gigabyte's site lists no less than eleven Z68 boards.
Detailed below, the Z68 offering (there probably will be some models with display connectors) includes nine ATX models and two micro ATX boards. All products obviously support Sandy Bridge (LGA1155) processors, include the Smart Response technology (allowing for SSD+HDD hybrid configurations), are bundled with the Touch BIOS Windows app, and have four DDR3-2200+ memory slots.
Eight boards have an Ultra Durable 3 design, ten have two or more PCI-Express x16 slots enabling SLI or CrossFireX setups (only the GA-Z68A-D3-B3 has one PCIe x16 slot), and all pack 7.1 channel audio, multiple SATA 6.0 Gbps and SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 connectivity, and 3+TB hard drive support.
Gigabyte's Z68 motherboards should already be reaching stores.
