After getting a very good look at the GA-990FXA-UD7 earlier this week, we can now contemplate on another high-end AM3+ motherboard from Gigabyte, the GA-990FXA-UD5. Details on this board come from Gigabyte as it apparently decided to simply let people know what's coming up for Bulldozer.
Coming in with a black/gray color scheme, the GA-990FXA-UD5 features an 8+2 phase power design, a black AM3+ socket that supports processors old (Phenom II) and new (FX Series), a two-piece passive cooling system, Ultra Durable 3 components, Driver MOSFETs (they allow for higher power transfer and increased efficiency), and five PCI-Express x16 slots enabling 3-way SLI and CrossFireX setups.
Gigabyte's board is also equipped with DDR3-2000 memory slots, two eSATA 6.0 Gbps and eight SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, four USB 3.0 ports (two on the backpanel, two via a header), Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, FireWire, DualBIOS, and the Turbo XHD function for full automatic RAID 0 configurations.
The GA-990FXA-UD5 should become available next month.
