To boost the hype around its newest U series ultra-thin laptops, the 14-inch U46 and 15.6-inch U56, Asus published on YouTube a video depicting the two models and listing some of their highlights - thinness, sexy design, Sandy Bridge power and autonomy.
The U46 and U46 both have a hinge-forward construction, aluminum covers, they are under one inch thick and feature a standard voltage 2nd gen Intel Core processor, up to 8GB of RAM and up to a 750GB hard drive, a DVD writer, and integrated (Intel HD 3000) or discrete (GeForce GT 540M 1GB) graphics.
Asus' laptops also include a 0.3 megapixel webcam, LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0 connectivity, a built-in card reader, D-Sub and HDMI outputs, and a 4- or 8-cell battery, the latter enabling up to 10 hours of operation. No word on prices.
