Patriotís promise of sweet, SandForce SF-2200-enabled store is becoming a reality as the company today released its previously-announced Wildfire solid state drives. These units make use of a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and deliver read and write speeds of up to 555 MB/s and 520 MB/s, respectively.
"The Patriot Wildfire is the fastest SSD drive we have ever released," says William Lai, Patriot Memory's Product Manager. "Although we are a bit late to market, we wanted to ensure that the technology was rock-solid. We are confident with the latest firmware, Patriot's reputation for quality and performance stand second-to-none."
The Wildfire SSDs have a 2.5-inch form factor, include TRIM support, are capable of a 4k random write performance of up to 85,000 IOPS and are bundled with a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch bracket. For starters Patriot is rolling out 120GB and 240GB drives, with a 480GB model set to ship later on.
