Samsung Electronics today introduced two new 'smart players', the Android 2.2-running Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and 5.0. Both of these players are powered by a 1 GHz processor, and feature 8/16GB of flash storage, a microSD slot, a HD camera, and a large (4-inch on the 4.0, 5-inch on the 5.0) touchscreen.
"With the Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and 5.0 we’re delivering a rich, immersive experience for multimedia enthusiasts," said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business. "A large, high-quality screen, a world of fun and useful applications and great communications services make this a powerhouse device at an affordable price."
Samsung's devices have access to the Android Market, they provide quick access to social services, allow for VoIP voice and video calls, and make use of the SoundAlive technology so as to deliver 'unrivalled sound quality, with deeper bass and greater tone articulation'.
The Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 is making its retail debut in Russia, while the 5.0 will first ship in Switzerland.
