South Korean tech titan Samsung has decided to hype up its newest flagship Android smartphone some more so it announced that, by the end of April, there have been 3 million pre-orders made for it. The Galaxy S II is thus on the right path to become a best-seller like its predecessor.
Samsung expects the pre-order number to increase in the near future as the Android 2.3-running (and TouchWiz UI v4.0-enhanced) smartphone will expand its availability to about 120 countries worldwide (140 carriers signed up to sell it).
Seen below, the 116g Galaxy S II packs a 1.2 GHz dual-core chip, a 4.3-inch (800 x 480) Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of storage, a rear-facing 8 megapixel camera with LED flash capable of 1080p video recording, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, a digital compass, an FM radio, HSDPA support, and an 1650 mAh battery.
