Slovak Telekom now has over 150,000 subscribers to its Magio-branded digital TV services, or 50,000 more than a year earlier.

Take-up of Magio has been boosted by the launch of the DTH platform Magio Sat at the beginning of last year, the telco having operated an IPTV service since late 2006, as well as the modernisation of the MCore environment that provides applications for Magio.

The IPTV operation currently offers viewers 86 channels, while Magio Sat provides up to 102.

Slovak Telekom majority owned by Deutsche Telekom (51%), with the remaining shares being held by the Ministry of Economy (34%) and National Property Fund (15%).
